When do the Trustees meet?

The Trustees typically meet on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6:00 PM.

When does the Zoning Commission meet?

The Zoning Commission meets on an as needed basis on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 5:00 PM.

When does the Board of Zoning Appeals meet?

The Board of Zoning Appeals meets the fourth Monday of the month at 5:30 PM.

Who do I call for service to pick up my garbage?

A catch-basin is clogged and there is a pothole in my street, who do I call?

If it is a State of Ohio Road, please call ODOT District 8 at 513-932-3030. If it is a Clermont County Road, please call the Clermont County Engineer at (513) 732-8857. If it is a Batavia Township Road, please call (513) 732-1363

Who decides to salt our streets?

The Township Service Director, Steven Tyminski, monitors the road conditions when snow begins to accumulate on the pavement surface. He will then determine the call out needs by checking radar images and the latest forecast. Our trucks are on the road within 15 to 30 minutes of being called out.

Who plows my street?

We maintain only the roads that are under the jurisdiction of the Township. The Clermont County Engineers Office maintains all county roadways and the Ohio Department of Transportation maintains the state roads and federal highways.
** If you are in a new subdivision, your street may not be dedicated. If this is the case, your street will not be salted or plowed by the Township. You may need to contact your developer who is responsible for maintaining the streets within your new neighborhood. **

Who can sell door to door?

The Trustees passed Resolution 06-02-2022 that permits door to door sales in Batavia Township. Each Transient Vendor must register with the Township (MORE INFO HERE) and is issued a permit. If you would like to be placed on the No Solicitation List maintained by the Township, please call (513) 732-3888 ext. 7 or email jstewart@bataviatownship.org. To report a vendor without a permit, please call the Sherriff Department’s non-emergency number at (513) 732-2231.

Is there a noise ordinance?

Yes, the Township passed Resolution 7-2-2000 and Resolution 07-04-2022 to control noise in the Township relative to the operation of radios or other sound generating devices or on vehicles and prohibiting excessive noise in defined areas.
** This is enforced by the Clermont County Sheriffs Office. **

Is there a barking dog ordinance?

Yes, the Township passed Resolution 1-3-98 in January of 1998 stating that no person shall harbor or keep any dog that, by loud and frequent habitual barking, howling, or yelping, shall cause annoyance or disturbance to the neighborhood.
